What
does being in a state of discomfort mean?
Well, from my point of view, it can be a mental or bodily disturbance,
such as, you can be annoyed at a challenging occurrence in your life and you
don’t know what to do about it or you are facing an emotional situation but you
are too busy to pay attention so it gets out of control.
Discomfort
isn’t always bad; in fact, it is often a warning sign to let you know that
something needs to shift. Some of
us have a high threshold for pain yet I have observed lately that many clients
that we work with experience a low threshold. In fact, their poor mental outlook often triggers something
physical, which seems to escalate depending upon their conscious desire to
either stay stagnant or shift.
There
is a direct correlation between stress, anxiety, boredom and even loneliness
and the physical symptoms of pain.
Many different emotional triggers can cause the onset of pain in the
body and if not addressed can lead to serious complications.
So
what are we to do about it you might ask? I can only speak from my
personal experiences and hope that you might be willing to examine or
re-examine your life and how you react to it.
There
is an old saying: Fake it till
you make it! That statement can be applied to
various aspects of your life. I have told many clients over the years to change
their perception and instead of continually saying that their glass is half
empty, start looking differently at your situation and see that it is actually
half full.
If
you could say on a continual basis, I feel good and fulfilled, everything in
my life is working out—you will start
to believe it and as you believe it, what ever it is that you are seeking will
start to become attracted to you.
The Universe cannot give you something if you yourself do not believe
you deserve it. It is as simple as
that! That is why I say, Fake
it till you make it. For example, if you are seeking a new client who has the money to
pay for your services, start seeing that client coming to you. Visualize that the phone is ringing and
you are being introduced. A brand
new referral has just called and asked to partake in your services. Place a value on your services and
believe that you are deserving of receiving that amount of compensation. You have value and worth but if you do
not believe that you deserve or are capable of receiving that kind of fee, you
are actually sending mixed signals to the Universe and consequently, it cannot
perform for you the way your heart wants.
If
you do nothing else, there is one point I want to make: learn to speak to the
discomfort in your body and ask it questions because when you do that, you will
receive answers. If you are
feeling stressed or pressured to do something that you really do not want to
do, take a step back and ask yourself, ”What is the root cause of these
feelings and what can I do to shift gears and change them. Please
rememberàwe
are all a work in progress so I encourage you not to stress that you may not be
getting it right—be kind and patient with you. . Your mind, body and spirit
will thank you
