Connection
is what it is all about. The
ability to feel connected. That is
why we are here. It can be a life force connection, such as mind-body and
spirit. It can be a family
connection—a friendship connection—a healthy connection—an intimate
connection. It is about connecting
to the natural rhythms of life and allowing them to guide our journey and
strengthen our resolve as we continue to be seekers of our fate. Some of us are
continually feeling confused and let down because we are seeking on the outside
of us the answers to life’s questions yet if we were willing to go within to
the deepest parts of our soul we would soon realize that all our answers are
truly available to us. They rest
within the recesses of our soul, that inner dwelling place that gives us the
breath of life as we strengthen our identity.
Betty
gave me the opportunity for growth---for me it was growth in an awesome
way---finding within the depths of my soul, my ability to express love and
compassion for someone for whom I knew so little about yet felt a need to be
connected. I allowed myself to be
seen, open and vulnerable to Betty and she responded in like kind. Together we connected in a loving and
sacred way as I realized that we equally felt the weaving of our lives in a
heartfelt and compassionate way.
Worthiness,
vulnerability, allowing myself to be transparent and authentic at the same time
are all attributes of connectedness that are bound together so that I
individually and all of us collectively can be better prepared to create a
platform where understanding and genuineness flow. We are all inter-connected and through our oneness, we act,
react and interact throughout the world as if those threads of energy are
magnetic energy fields that vibrate through our entire Universe.
“The earth
does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like
the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a
strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.”
We
have a client who exemplifies this perfectly. She was experiencing various emotional challenges in her
life with her husband and children and of course these feelings spilled over to
other areas of her life. Her son,
who was actually a good student began failing in numerous subjects. He was angry, disconnected and
introspective. As she continued to
do her work, she began to heal, to grow and to become aware of the effects of
her negative attitude and behavior and her family dynamics shifted; her son was
not only feeling the shift in her behavior and attitude but he was mirroring
her. As she began to change in
various positive ways, so did he.
His grades in school improved drastically and his body language and
attitude also changed and improved.
He is now more eager to hold a decent conversation with his mother and
together they are resolving many deep hurts and pains. Their inter-connectedness was felt by
both of them and our client saw first hand how her emotional disconnect
affected her entire family.
The life
I touch for good or ill will touch another life, and that in turn another,
until who knows where the trembling stops or in what far place my touch will be
felt.

Frederick Buechner
We
all owe it not only to ourselves but also to everyone else to step up and
change in a healthy and positive way because our conscious connection to the
all necessitates that shift. We
all have a direct connection to the same life force that created us and it is
through that connection that each one of us can prosper and thrive.
No part
of the human community can live entirely on its own planet, with its own laws
of motion and cut off from the rest of humanity. – Hugo Chavez
