It isn’t about being
particularly shrewd or savvy, it is more about being honest and in truth with
yourself. Getting back to the
basics means finding your true sense of being in its simplest form. But please it is not about the basics of
survival in its purest sense but more about the basics of taking back
responsibility of one’s own self.
Once you have allowed the
basic fundamentals of life to enter into your essence, you are ready to go to
the next step—discovering contentment and joy not to be confused with pleasure.
We have been caught up, for
the last 40 years, with a new way of living—Fast food restaurants, fast and
easy frozen dinners which are more chemically based than nutritional balanced
foods; then there are fast paced cars and the express lane highways. We contend with our addictions to
entertainment that is tantalizing and then again our lifestyles gravitating
around watching our neighbor’s lives played out on the television together with
the social media apps that got everyone and every company saying—come and get
it! All of this is letting
everyone know what we are doing every minute of every day. Instant gratification is what most
people are seeking and as a result, they are also discovering that with all the
stimuli and rewards that they are surrounded by, they are also feeling a strong
sense of lack. Could it be a lack
of fulfillment, contentment or a desire to return to the simpler way of living
where we had the time to sit down and actually smell the fresh air and the
flowers without being pushed or brainwashed into believing that we need to keep
up with everyone else’s purpose?
How much time do you devote
each day to developing your inner knowingness which is your psyche or your
intuitive talents? We all possess
them, but unfortunately, most of us ignore them and then miss out on their
beautiful messages and gifts. When
we are in touch with our instincts, magic happens because we are better
prepared to understand the right direction to follow. Our emotions are held in check and our minds become sharper
as we gravitate towards a life worth living instead of a life that is running
in the express lane. My question
is: Are we being manipulated into
performing in a way that’s pleasing Madison Avenue and the marketing guru’s?
Are we strong enough to
resist the temptation of what everyone else is doing and can we overcome all
that hype and say: “I need to
get back to basics because that is fundamental to my experiencing joy.”
Information and solutions is
key to our survival. We need to
seek the right information that will enable us to live a life that benefits us
physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. When we are able to take
that information and not only process it but allow it to work on our behalf, we
are able to find the right solutions that will allow each and every one of us
to enjoy our reason for being.
That process already requires us to get back to the basics. For it is only through returning to our
authentic reason for being that we actually have control over our life and
discover its true meaning.
