Each one
of us has been given a blank canvas to start out with and it is up to each one
of us to create our own masterpiece. Our individual brush strokes represent our
feelings and experiences as the power and strength behind each stroke will
shine forth for all to see.
If you
are coloring your canvas with anger, regret, sorrow and fear then your canvas
may be dull, dark and filled with a lot of heavy energy. If you fill your
canvas with happiness, peace and acceptance, the colors of the canvas are
suddenly brighter, more joyful, and definitely pleasing to look at because its
energy is vibrant and alive.
The
masterpiece that we are creating does not only encompass our present life, but
rather the many lifetimes that we have experienced. It is a continual work of art that can either be savored or
enjoyed by observing its various stages or it can be ignored and hidden because
it lacks depth and enthusiasm.
If you
have even gone to an art museum and sat in front of an inspiring work of art
because its depth and beauty has captured your imagination as it has allowed
you to bask in its power and strength you know what I am speaking about. I have observed others admiring a
painting because it generated a sense of peace and calm that actually fed the
soul.
As we use
our brushstrokes daily to express the image and sense of worth that we wish the
world to see, we are continually using our imagination to express our
feelings. In essence, when you
make peace with the past, you will not spoil the present with useless thoughts
or feelings.
Life is
too short to waste time hating, fearing or regretting. When you actively decide
to forgive past issues and look at the larger canvas, you are taking a step
into the present moment of now that suddenly opens up avenues to new
possibilities. This is how you begin creating your path to a joy-filled life
with its splashes of light hues and brilliant energy.
Fill your
pallet with color, create your magic and dare to try something that you have
been yearning to experience. Rise
above the mediocrity of life and listen to your heart.
Each one
of us has the power to heal and create our own work of art and I believe we can
change if we make a deliberate decision to do so. Maybe this is the time for
you to examine your life’s canvas and fill it with love, forgiveness and
acceptance.
Break
through your limiting thoughts and explore something different. Allow your feelings and your heart to
capture the essence of who you truly are.
Maybe you, too, will need to sit quietly and examine your canvas and
make adjustments as needed. What
is the mood that you are trying to express or the colors that you hope will
embrace the message you want to send? Experiment—explore—examine and do it with
an air of light heartedness. When you do, your life and your world will change
dramatically.
