Some of you
may think this is a foolish question because you don’t believe you have any
choices when it comes to how you spend your days—weeks or life. But I am here to tell you that you and
only you can dictate your life if and when you are prepared to become the
master over your time, your daily activities and your joy.
There is no
question that each one of us has duties and responsibilities that need to be
adhered to on a daily basis. We
have jobs that we must be held accountable for, we have family obligations and
commitments yet after all of those aspects have been fulfilled and satisfied,
we still go to sleep each night alone with our heart and soul craving to
achieve our dreams and satisfy our desires.
There have
been many times in my life when I felt that every minute was accounted for and
I had no spare time to add another thing into my already exhausting
schedule. That is when God placed
in front of me a crisis or situation that required my attention. I absolutely had a choice to ignore the
situation and keep blinders on or I could address the need of another and do
what God had asked me to do—spread understanding, compassion and love. I actually recall one such incident and
I remember clearly the message that I received when I said to myself: “I don’t have time to console or
help any one at this time.” My message was: “Make the time and I
will see to it that everything that you needed to accomplish will get
done.”
I followed my
intuition and my Inner Voice and I discovered that I actually had more than
sufficient time to fulfill my obligations that day in all areas of my life and
I even had some time left over just for me. I believe that God gives us opportunities and challenges
daily but that it is up to each one of us to listen to that soft Inner Voice,
ask for guidance and believe and trust that God will make sure we meet all of
our duties and responsibilities in a timely manner.
This lesson
has taught me that when I trust and stretch myself to spend my time wisely, God
makes sure that I have more than sufficient time to also experience personal
fulfillment and joy. You may be
feeling pressured to work harder and longer hours because you lost your job,
your family demands are increasing or you may be experiencing other challenges
that stretch your patience and increase your level of frustration but I can
assure you that when you take your problems to God and ask Him/Her and the
Angels for guidance and support, you will not be left alone to struggle. Sometimes our struggles are fashioned
in our minds—we start to think of all the things that can go wrong or literally
fall apart but in truth, we have no idea what opportunity is standing right
around the corner waiting for us to pass that way.
There is
always a plan that we haven’t thought about, a new experience that we never
believe could be ours or even a new inspiration that is waiting to be
born. When we place our trust in
our Source, we agree to release our doubts and worries and fears and stand on
faith and trust that God has got our back and that our Creator will not desert
us.
Make it a
habit to spend some time daily in quiet communication with your Source, your
God. Have a conversation and state
your concerns, your worries and willingly agree to listen to that soft Inner
Voice that is giving you the guidance needed to continue on your journey. Spend your time wisely and your time
will grace you with much goodness.
Remember you are only limited by your limiting thoughts and beliefs.
