That is an interesting thought! If you have not
thought about it in the past, maybe it is time for you to start. I met a women this year who by
every standard is charming, good looking, has always been successful in her life,
owns her own home and a beautiful
prestigious car but who is not happy.
She is searching for something that she has not been able to put a
handle on and it is rattling her psyche. As an intuitive and life coach, I see
her pain, I understand her discontent and I have observed on several occasions
her emotional distress. She did
reach out to our office for an appointment but has chosen not to go any further
because she did not want to expend the financial obligation that would help her
experience inner peace and happiness.
Are you someone like this person who is fighting your
destiny? It is so easy to make
excuses as to why you do not want to spend the money or take the risk or make
the effort to do your work. It is
so easy to get lazy and wait for someone else to take over and control your
destiny and give you the lift that you have been waiting for. Yet no one can do
that for you –you are the one who must make the commitment and have the burning
desire to change. So the next
question to ask is: What are
you seeking and do you have any clue?
My friend is a single woman who has no children. She is lonely and is seeking friendship
and companionship. She retired
early in life from her career because she was feeling empty and burned out but
all those symptoms still lead to the same problem—She is seeking something more
in her life and she has not stopped long enough to find the solution. Another great question to ask is: Why does she feel lost and lonely? That is
a huge question and if answered correctly will unlock the door to her
problems. But if ignored and
released from her consciousness as something frivolous, then she and she alone
will pay the price. No one can
make you, me or anyone else happy, content or fulfilled but you. No one can make you successful not only
in your job but in your life’s endeavors but you and no one can fulfill your
destiny except you.
So what are you waiting for? How do you proceed and what is it going
to take to help you realize that you have to make some hard choices that will
propel you into your next phase of life? Let us get real! Every thing has a price tag attached to
it. The first is that you must
expend energy and time. Only after
that realization does money come into play. Commitment is a vital part of that equation because you can
put down the money but if you fail to do the work—do your part to change your
attitude, behavior and beliefs, then you are back in the same place from where
you started.
If you are a seeker of your authentic self, then I am
sure that you realize the truth ( especially if you have come this far in your
pursuit of happiness) that there are hundreds of opinions about finding life’s
joy and happiness and the libraries are full of books on this subject but in
the end it all comes down to you and what you feel comfortable revealing. It is not about a game of chance—it is
a pursuit of happiness that can only be realized and achieved if and when you
are ready to experience it. You
might say—Get real—I have been seeking it and I’m depressed.
My response to you is: NO! you
get real! If you truly are a
seeker then you have no choice but to reach out, take a risk, explore something
that you have refused to explore
up until this moment and agree to become vulnerable to your feelings, emotions
and your expectations in an open and truthful fashion without abandon. Don’t settle for mediocrity. You have been living that way for a
long time and it hasn’t been working.
Reach out and try something new.
Good and bad luck experiences comes to all of us but it is in the way
you manage your expectations and your thoughts that will determine how you will
succeed.
Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it
is a thing to be achieved.
