We
all get worried, frustrated and confused in life probably more then we want to
admit; however, the key to feeling safe and in harmony is to stay in a state of
peace. The storms of life come to
every person but we still can feel peaceful in the storm as long as we don’t
let the storm get in us. In
other words, don’t let the struggle overtake you on the inside. It can be all around you but you don’t
have to allow all the doubt on the outside to get in the inside.
Don’t
be controlled by your circumstances---be stable and don’t get caught up in the
struggle. I always suggest to people to become the observer of situations in
life not the participant. When you
are at peace, that means that you are in control of the battle that forms in
your mind. If
there is one thing that I have grown to realize in my life it is that if I
haven’t gotten the promotion or wasn’t acknowledged for my work, I try not to
take it personally. I have come to
understand that there is a better opportunity waiting for me and I need to
release the outcome because I know that God has a better plan for me.
In
the last two months specifically, I have been confronted with numerous
challenging situations. Each time
a conflict or unnerving challenge
or rejection appeared in front of me, I stayed calm, focused and believing that
God was about to show me a better way and sure enough—that is exactly what
happened. Everything fell into
place and people or circumstances were presented to me that worked out
perfectly. There is a saying in
the Bible that states: “The battle
is the Lords and the Victory is mine-hosanna—hosanna—hosanna. I first heard those words in a song and
they have always stuck with me. I
say them often. Just think about
it for a moment, all the times that you are worrying about your circumstances,
you are weakening your immune system and when your immune system becomes
threatened, you are more susceptible to sickness and disease.
Joel
Olsten, the minister and author
said: “Worry is like a rocking
chair--- you are always moving but never going anyplace.”
We get so caught up with
our problems and challenges that
we set ourselves on a self-destructing course. It is important to learn this valuable lesson for living in
peace of mind, body and spirit really sets you free to focus and stay on
course. Do not allow your business
and/or your personal life’s stressful situations to get inside of you---or you
will start to weaken your immune system, which will ultimately weaken your
health. Don’t let your trouble get
to you or it will destroy your joy and wipe out any chance of experiencing
inner peace.
Chaos
happens—confusion happens—discord happens and there will be times when
everything is out of control---but just like the eye of the storm—in the midst
of the difficulty, you can find calm and balance. Remember that the battle is the Lords and the victory is
yours so let God be in control and trust and believe in His ability. Peace is
not the absence of trouble---peace is knowing that God is there with you and
will protect you even in the face of your problems. In life, on the surface---something is always going
on---problems appear, difficulties arise but in quietness and calmness you will
discover your strength—that is when you are able to stay grounded—focused and
sure footed. The only thing that
you can control is your attitude and behavior. Life can be peaceful if and when you learn to go down into
the depths of your soul and breath deeply as you say: “this too shall pass.”
I
know your life will get better and improve for you when you learn to calm down,
stay in peace and agree to to hand over
your battles to the Lord. “The battle is the Lords and the Victory is
mine---hosenna—hosenna—hosenna.” These words help me and I know they
will help you too.
