Are you
the person who always wishes that success will some day sporadically drop into
your lap, or are you the person who creates success for yourself? While it is always a good idea to be hopeful,
you must act on the wishes and hopes you do have in order to discover and create real success in your life.
Think
of creating success for yourself in this way: if you were to
hire a contractor
to construct a home for you and he seriously tells you, "I wish I could build this house for you but I am waiting for it
to build itself." What would your response be? You would be fairly
upset knowing you hired a man to build your house and he told you that he was
waiting for it to build itself. That being said, if you want to become wealthy and successful in your area of expertise, and you are wishing it will
happen on its own accord, then you are behaving just like the contractor. Life
and success do not work that way.
Sweat
Equity
It takes persistence and sweat equity to build a
foundation towards realizing your dreams
in life. Just like you would expect everyone else to do the jobs they have been
hired to do, you must hire and motivate yourself to follow through and create your own success and prosperity. You are the builder of your
imagination, your dreams, and your goals. The actions you take
with your imagination, dreams and goals will determine the outcome of your long-term successes.
I am
tired of hearing it is all up to me, you
say? Success is entirely
in your hands, my friend. There are many roads you can take to realizing your fortune in life. The
first step is to get up off of the sidelines and then choose a road to achieving your destiny. Waiting for
wealth to come into your life is a gamble you cannot afford to take. If you
truly want to turn your vision into reality, then you must stop wishing for it,
and start acting on it. Which road is going to guide you to where you need to
be? Do your homework on the actions and choices you need to make to move in a
forward motion. Once you have a clear foundation laid out for yourself, make a
go at it. Even if you fail the first time, you will have gained more knowledge
to understand what to do in your next attempt.
Comedian
and television star, Bill Cosby is noted as
saying, "In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater
than your fear of failure." Do NOT give up or give into your fears. No one
can fault you for taking a chance on yourself to achieve success. Some of our greatest medical researchers had
to work relentlessly on creating helpful medicines and cures. If it were not
for their tireless efforts to keep on going, even when all attempts failed, we
would not have the remarkable treatments and preventive medicines we have
today.
Joan Marie Whelan, renowned
author and intuitive has said, "The
foundation to all greatness and success lies in the imagination, the mindset
and the inner passion of those
willing and determined to go the full distance -- even in the face of failure
and ridicule." Yes, you are the creator of your own destiny. You have the choice to decide how far you are
willing to go, and how quickly you will get there. Your perserverance will be tested. Your willpower will be challenged. In
the end, your persistence will pay
off when you stay focused and on the road to your own success.
