Are you tapping into your Joy?

We were not created to endure life we were actually created to enjoy life.  Your joy should not be dependent upon all that is happening around you but rather how you feel on the inside.

We each possess a running stream of joy within us that is continually flowing through our minds, body and spirit but if you refuse to tap into your joy, you miss the gift.

Tap into your JoyWe are always thinking of things to do to feel happier, to make us  excited as we are seeking joy but I want you to understand that you already possess that attribute.  Don’t allow the pressures of life to steal your joy. Worry, fear, anger and doubt rob us of our joy.  Instead of allowing those emotions to clutter your mind and heart, begin to be alert and pay attention to where you are placing your thoughts, your feelings and your attitude.  Develop the habit of keeping a song in your heart, that is, look for ways that activate your joy.  In your thoughts you should always be meditating on God’s goodness, on your blessings and all the reasons why your life is actually filled with joy.

If you are grateful for where you are, you will soon see that God is moving you in the direction of where you are supposed to be.
I wonder how much more we would all enjoy our lives if we could turn our focus towards all that we have instead of what we feel we are missing.  It is always easy to complain about life and how it is treating us. When you complain, you remain in that state of distress but when you praise and count your blessings, you are being raised up and enjoying yourself even more.  We create much of our own unhappiness because of the way we complain all the time.  It is far healthier to seek out joy then to pull yourself down into distress.

When you keep speaking to yourself in the right way, offering praise to God, counting your blessings and feeling optimistic, your life is far healthier and happier.  Unfair situations happen to us all the time.  Don’t let a hardship suck the wind out of you.  Get yourself back up, dust yourself off and believe that there is a reason why things happen.  Turn your attention to all the things that you still have.  You are blessed daily—consciously be in gratitude for what you have and you will get your joy back.  Refuse to stay knocked down and in the midst of the struggle, start to praise God for His blessings.  Your situation may not change immediately, but you will change emotionally and spiritually; your life gets better and you are happier when you don’t let a negative situation devastate you; that is when you are tapping into your joy.
