What do you think is the symbolism behind a rainbow?

I do not know about you, but I love to look at a rainbow and wonder where it started and where is it ending, and then I imagine that somewhere in between the two points something magical can unfold.

As I started to examine thoughts and beliefs about rainbows, I discovered that people all over the world have different thoughts and beliefs about the meaning behind rainbows.  For sure, all of the articles that I explored expressed two elements in common—they were struck by its beauty but they also believed that it has a connection to the Divine—God—Goddess and/or Creation.
For me, the rainbow represents a happy sign that possibly what I am seeking is also seeking me.  I also feel that it shows me that God is great and powerful and through his greatness, I, too, can experience my greatness.  My challenge, as always is to believe in me and know that I can enjoy the experiences I desire if and when I am prepared to move into that realm.  I have often used the symbol of a rainbow in some of my writings to express hope and openness to new possibilities.  It is most definitely a reminder that God has formed a covenant with man/woman and is asking us individually and collectively to be united with each other in love.  For love is truly the only answer to the renewal of man and the earth.
As the Bible has told us, man is weak and has always broken their covenant with God and each other.  In spite of that truth, God still loves us and tells us he will not abandon us.  He is always present as a reminder that there is hope and love if and when we are ready to reach out to accept it.
According to the dictionary, “a rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that causes a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines on to droplets of moisture in the Earth's atmosphere. It takes the form of a multi colored arc.”
So you have it--> the scientific meaning and the soul meaning behind rainbows; I find both of them to be interesting and definitely inspiring. What are your thoughts?  I would love to hear from you.
