I imagine that
Nelson Mandela, the former South African president, who spent 27 years in
prison, must have relied on mental and emotional clarity to face the adversity
that had enslaved him for all those years. You see, freedom is a state of
mind. Mandela exemplified that mental and emotional freedom by pursuing a
degree in law through a correspondence program hosted by the University of
London. All this he did, while incarcerated in a very basic prison
that permitted him only one visitor and one letter every six months.
Later, Mandela went onto earning the Nobel Peace Prize.
Imagine what you
can achieve if you put your mind to it like Mandela? Freedom is truly a
state of mind, and if you know how to appropriately perceive your
circumstances, you are mentally and emotionally equipped to obtain personal
freedom at any point in your life. Keys to achieving emotional freedom are
dedication, will power, and the inner wisdom to determine and make wise choices
each and every day.
Nelson Mandela was
a prisoner and his life was controlled by others but no one had the power to
control his mind. So I ask you:
“why are you placing restrictions on your thoughts that might be holding you
back in life? Your mind is a
powerful machine and when used with clarity and purpose, you have the ability
to pause and release your fear and worry and grasp an attitude of positivity
that will strengthen your character and life.
Where are you
directing your energies? What is your quest in life? Invest time in
yourself to discover what you want to create in life. Remember, you have
the innate willpower and intuitiveness to choose which direction in life
you'd like to take...without restrictions.
The first step to
mental and emotional freedom is creating a blueprint for your mind and your
life goals. It is vital that you align your mind, body and soul into one
of perfect harmony. Don't set yourself up for emotional disparity because it
will guarantee failure. The best course of action is to create and
reinforce your thoughts with positive intentions -- use an enthusiastic and
adventurous mindset to create an environment rich with opportunities. You
are in control of your thoughts and when you pay attention to what your intuition
is telling you, you will be able to maintain high and positive energy levels.
We truly are our
worst own critics. We tend to be over-analytical when it comes to our
failures and successes. Learn how to be gentle and kind to yourself, and
accept each moment as it comes to you. If you want to accomplish certain
tasks or goals, use your inner wisdom to guide you in the right path.
Focus is also key. Concentrate on your intentions for the hour, the day,
the week, the month, the year...etc. Whatever your goals are, you need to
be consistent in your thoughts and actions, and plan accordingly. When
circumstances or "challenges" present themselves to you, learn how to
simply be, and embrace them. With
each new "challenge," we learn how to overcome or use these
situations to our best ability or advancement. Remember, you are in
control of your life. You are the leader of your life...and YOU have made
all the difference. And never forget...like Mandela exemplified, freedom
truly is a state of mind. You are what you choose to be.
