Are
you a quitter? If giving up has been a constant dilemma
in your life, then it is time to come to terms with it. Your heart and spirit
have to coexist with your decisions
and the consequences of those decisions. When you continue to give up on your
dreams, your family, your friends or whatever it is you are giving up on, you
are the one who has to live with the end results. Over time, you begin to
reflect on all the "If only's" you could have accomplished but failed
to do so because you gave up on them before they ever had a chance to come to
fruition.
NFL Football Coach, Vince Lombardi once said, "Winners never quit, and quitters never win." This is the absolute
truth! Lombardi coupled his profound
ideas with his strong belief in God.
He knew that in order to be successful
in life, you must have your heart, mind and soul in the right place at all
times. Winning at life is half the battle, it is the power to believe in yourself in achieving that winning result,
which takes commitment and
self-discipline. This means you cannot allow yourself to give up when the
going gets tough.
Do you really want to be
the 80-something year old man or woman regretting the days of your life because
you did not put forth the effort to create
the life you want? I know it is just so much easier to give up on something
rather than deal with the challenges that may present themselves to you. I get it. Accomplishing your endeavors in life takes time, takes sweat
equity, takes gut, takes passion,
takes heartaches… and no, not everyone is up to the task. If you have already
chosen to give into your fears and your doubts about achieving your goals, then this message is definitely not for you.
You have already decided to quit. You already have it in your mindset that you will not be able to do anything anyway. But
if there is an ounce of hope about your prospects, then you can rise above your fears, and you can rise above your worry from past
experiences, and you can do and achieve
anything.
I imagine that wise
football coach believed all things are
possible through God. And the same is true for you and me. Believe me,
there are times when I have wanted to give up because things just weren't
moving fast enough for me. And today, I still struggle with low points. It is
in those times though, I catch myself and reinforce
my self-belief with the power of my Creator. I too, know that all things
are possible through God. It may sound silly to you, but a little voice echoes
in the back of my mind during those times, "Don't
give up! You're too close to realizing your dreams!" It occurred to me that we all have that
little voice of reason. Some of you
may have suppressed your voice of reason because you have chosen not to listen.
Do you hear it now? "Don't give up!
You're too close to realizing your dreams!"
