Situations
continually arise that will test us and our values and principles but one thing
to remember is: Stay calm, act
with discernment and be cautious with the way you respond. It is perfectly okay to get annoyed or angry due to
someone’s lack of integrity or unprofessional behavior but it will only harm
your state of mind and your overall well-being if you dwell on it and allow it
to alter your behavior and good basic common sense.
A very
valuable and important point to remember: nothing or no one can offend you
without your permission. Repeat those words often
and allow them to sink into your overall state of mind before you give your
response. Don’t give someone else
the power to manipulate your emotional or mental state. If you get stressed out, anxious or
upset about what someone said about you, you will deplete your energy and have
nothing left to protect your immune system so you can stay healthy.
Don’t let anyone get the best of you, you can instead,
take a deep breathe in – stay calm and say: ‘The battle is the Lords and the
Victory is mine.’ In other words, trust God to find the
solution, believe that you will find the right answer and the best way to deal.
Don’t make it harder on yourself by getting upset and loading yourself down
with negativity.

The
real question to ask yourself is:
“Can you manage with turning the other cheek and refuse to cave into
your negative adversaries?” Ignore the insults, the inequities
and those who lack the right principles and values that you hold true.
You
cannot enjoy your life dwelling on your problems, there are a lot of things
that we cannot change so do give permission to evil-minded people to dictate
your life and the way you think and behave. Don’t let worry or hurtful people or situations get the best
of you—instead ask God to help you work it out, help you find the solution and
help you stay in a peaceful state of mind. No matter what happens to you or around you, maintain a good
healthy attitude. It is important
to protect your energy and refuse to give your power away regardless of what is
happening around you. Don’t allow others to upset you. Be vigilant and guard your heart; stop
giving up and giving in to being upset so that you begin to dwell on negative
things. Become creative with your
thoughts and your actions and stay in a state of joy and contentment knowing
that you are in the power seat—you are not allowing the negative situations and
people to penetrate your heart, mind or spirit. And say often: ‘The battle is the Lords and the Victory is
mine.’
