I have
also discovered that I am happy to get up in the morning with clear, new
thoughts on how to accomplish my tasks and fulfill my goal for the day. By
focusing on smaller tasks and mini-goals, I have been able to move easier
towards my larger goals.
It is
so much easier to develop the habit of taking one day at a time. Why you might ask? It saves you much stressful
moments and enables you to enjoy a sense of calm and inner peace, which is needed for good health
and personal survival. If you have
a difficult time practicing this technique, then ask God, your Creator to help
you –strengthen you and give you the foresight to understand the value of this
message.
Many
years ago a song was written by Marijohn Wilkin and Kris Kristofferson
entitled: “One day at a time.” It became an international hit, not because of the melody
but because the words hit home to millions of people. We all know in our hearts
that the words are true but some how we lack the courage and faith to live our
lives in that manner. The words
include: “One day at a time, sweet
Jesus. That’s all I’m asking from you.
Just give me the strength to do every day what I have to do. Yesterday’s gone, sweet Jesus. And tomorrow may never be mine. Lord, help me today. Show me the
way. One day at a time”

St. Augustine once said, “Entrust the past to God’s
mercy, the present to his love and the future to his divine providence.” Amen.
