Do you like yourself?

looking in the mirrorToo often we are filled with shame and guilt and those destructive beliefs that will only weigh us down and rob us of our joy.  Maybe it is time to rid yourself from shame so you can experience a more fulfilling and fruitful life.

God has forgiven you of all of your shortcomings. Don’t let one failure, a possible addiction, perhaps having been abused, divorced or what ever it may be to cripple you.  Those are labels that you or others have placed on you but those experiences are not who you are. Don’t let any harmful experience define who you are or label you. In truth, You are so much more; you are a child of God, and therefore, you are whole and complete in the eyes of God.

If you are struggling in a certain area of your life, it is okay to ask for help and support.  Never feel that you are alone.  We all need someone to walk with us in our difficulties.  Believe it or not, we all have struggles and addictions and problems but what I want to impart to you is that they should not define who you are and most definitely, they should not make you feel quilty or inadequate.  You can overcome anything that is holding you back if you are willing to reach out, seek help and know that you are valuable and worthy of feeling good, feeling loved, feeling strong and courageous.

Isn’t it time to shake off your shame and start believing that you are good, worthy and able to walk forward with your head held high knowing that all the challenges or situations you experienced in life are only just that—experiences that you chose at one point in time but they need not identify who you are.  It is time to forgive yourself and let go of the past.  Take off the old labels that you thought defined you and start living in true joy of self love , self respect and a wonderful sense of self worth.

If you spend your time feeling guilty, angry or ashamed, you will live a depressing and sad life.  God has greater plans for you and that is to live your life more fully.  This is your time to change your thoughts about yourself, stop beating yourself up and begin to see your worth and value. You are far greater than your experiences.  You have been created in the image of God and that is why you need to see yourself as worthy, beautiful, and priceless.  The door is open for you to walk tall, confident and strong but you are the one who must make the effort to change.  It is time for you to enter into your fullness and believe that you have something special to offer to the world and yourself.

I encourage you to sit down and review your life—who you are and what you want to be remembered for after you are gone.  This is your time to shift your thinking and really honor and love yourself completely.
