To nourish
means to supply with what is necessary for life, health and growth. When I speak about nourishing the body, we
all get the idea that we need to supply our bodies with food and hopefully good
food and maybe exercise. Yet when I
speak about nourishing the soul, many people turn a deaf ear! They don’t know what I am speaking about and
most people don’t even want to discuss that topic.

What fills your
soul? Calmness, inner peace, contentment, laughter,
a joy-filled experience all fills your soul.
A giggle, a happy smile, a deep sense of satisfaction feed your
soul. An intuitive hit, a gut feeling to
do something whimsical feeds your soul. Pay attention to those little signs
that nudge you to either do something to refresh yourself or to avoid because
it is leading you in the wrong direction.
Here are
some tips that will help you nourish your soul, which in turn will add a
wonderful sense of happiness to your heart as well.
1. Make a point daily to reserve some alone time. Whether you take a soothing bath at the end
of the day with soft music, read a relaxing and calming book or meditate. Too many people work right up to sleep time
or text or are on the phone; all those activities stimulate you and that is not
what you want to do before bed.
2. Art-music-writing are beautiful ways
to get lost within your own thoughts and that in itself is nurturing. It is a
wonderful way to express yourself in a satisfying way.
3. Commune
with nature – whether walking in a garden, planting or playing with the
soil, There is nothing like breathing in the fresh air and feeling more alive
yet at the same time feeling the stillness of the earth as you immerse yourself
in the peace of quietness and the sounds of nature.
4.Create
a sacred place within your home, a quiet sanctuary for your soul that
makes you feel safe and secure. This
special place should be a refuge from the rest of the world for you and even
your family. Make sure that your home
reflects what you want to experience.
Remove clutter and chaos and surround yourself with beauty, pleasant
sound and love.
