It is important to distinguish between the truth and error. If you cannot make that determination, you will falter often and feel deeply challenged and/ our defeated. To be able to discern truthfully for your life really starts at early childhood. We are taught by our parents first to know the truth and speak the truth but if you have not had that advantage, it would greatly serve you and your life if you were prepared now to make right choices and valued decisions for your life.
When you possess a discerning spirit, you are able to step back, see the bigger picture and choose wisely which direction you need to travel. That is the time to slow down and go within your heart and soul and say: “What is the right thing for me to do, or what is the correct way for me to handle this situation.” In all actuality, you are utilizing your higher powers, which we call your intuition. When you are in unison with your Creator, you are in a place where you can hear and listen to your intuitive voice, your gut feelings so that you can make wise decisions.
Each one of us possesses the Spirit of the Truth, we call that the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the voice of our Creator living within us and it enables us to be better prepared to make wise decisions. The basis of all discernment is the word of God. God says: “I want you to love yourself with all your heart and to love others as you love yourself.” This is a very valuable principle that you need to pay attention to. Look at it this way our lives don’t need to be complicated because the principles are quite simple. If we truly treat others, as we would like to be treated, we would have less anger, resentment, unforgiveness and hatred in the world.
We all make mistakes and fall down but if you have a discerning spirit, you will be able to see, hear, act and speak with wisdom and not be defeated. Wisdom comes to those who seek it and willingly act upon it with discernment. Unfortunately, too many people today listen to the voice of the world, not their inner spirit, their inner voice and that is why we have so much conflict and confusion. When that happens unhappiness and confusion follows. Don’t you think it is time to slow down, look within and see how you can improve your lot in life? Don’t procrastinate! Instead start taking right action now because your personal joy and happiness is at stake.
Our Creator, our God, knows how to get our attention and He will not stop until we begin to pay attention. Some of us refuse to listen to our inner voice. When we make that choice, we are also the ones who suffer greatly.
