Is your life meaningful?

As we crave to enjoy more for our lives and pray for increased blessings, we need to be reminded that along with increased blessings comes greater responsibilities and stronger faith.  Patience is a beautiful attribute; it is often something we seem to chase after yet fail to grasp.  Patience is required in order to acquire a fruitful and successful end result. If you have a goal that you what to work towards, it requires more than wishful think, it requires determination, resilience and a strong will to keep going no matter what surfaces. Trust me! My patience is compromised and it is an attribute that I am still working on to embrace, however, I see daily how my impatience has hindered my forward movement and caused me to act rash. Slow and steady is far better than pushing yourself over the cliff!

What exactly does it mean when you say, I have what it takes; are you speaking about your brains, your looks, your athletic ability?  What I am speak to are what I call our character traits, the principles that we adhere to and believe are important and even sacred.  You can have a college degree and still be out of a job!  You can be a highly skilled professional and live an unfulfilled life.

What does it take to have a meaningful life and lifestyle?  Each one of ushas a different interpretation to this question and what might be meaningful for you may not be for me.  I believe it is all about living a life that brings you joy and a wonderful sense of contentment and satisfaction with who you are.    My life has had many challenges but don’t we all have challenges!  It isn’t about the challenges or difficulties that we face but rather how we deal with adversity that sets us a part and defines our character and personality.

Our lives take on meaning when we have a purpose for living.  Research has shown that those who have a sense of purpose usually enjoy their live more and with less sickness and dis-ease of their mind, body and spirit.

There is no secret formula to purpose and meaning for your life.  It is highly individualized and absolutely depends on what you put into your life and how you choose to live it.  Life is a journey into the unknown!  It requires starting out taking baby steps one day at a time, very much like a newborn.  We learn by exploring our surrounding, finding our voice and gaining strength and momentum until we are confortable with ourselves and begin to gain in confidence and self-worth.  It is all about getting a better understanding of ourselves and a deeper appreciation into our values and positive self-image.

I do not believe there is one magical pill that will set you on the right path; however, I can say for sure that if you want to experience and enjoy a happy and fulfilling life, you must learn to discover a healthy relationship with yourself. Self-improvement is impossible without self-awareness!  Everything in life involves relationships, whether it is with your partner, your children, your job, career or your health and happiness.  It is all about understanding the relationship you have and, if needed, how to improve upon it in order to satisfy your needs, wants and desires.

The more you pay attention to your emotional, mental and physical needs the better you will feel.  There are several tips, approaches and paths to follow for you to arrive at the day of contentment and joy but the hardest part I believe is being consciously aware of where you are right now.  If you are not satisfied with the way your life is moving, take a step back and tell yourself that you are ready to get started on a new journey towards self-discovery because self-improvement is impossible without self-awareness!
