Would it be so much better in the
world if we could use our words to build up instead of tear down? Each one of us should be conscious of how we
use words on a daily basis. We use words
all the time to communicate, to inspire, to hurt and to express love. to become more aware of our tone of voice, our body language and how we express
our feelings. It would serve each one of
us more if we refused to let any evil talk come out of our mouths. It would serve each one of us if we refused
to judge others and ourselves and it most definitely would serve us if we could
release our hard feels, our anger, resentment and unforgiveness and replace
those negative emotions with compassion, kindness and a sense of sympathy and
concern for what others might be going through at this moment.
Words are like weapons, they can
wound and they can drag down. They
affect our attitude and behavior and they most definitely set the tone that we
want to be experiencing at any one time.
Words have great power to build up
and create a most rewarding foundation for our children and the young and in
fact for all of us. To many children in
the world have been criticized and embarrassed by their own peers and family
members and we, as a society are paying the price all the time. Wouldn’t it be nice if we became more aware
of our words and tried to use them to teach, inform, inspire and help build up
people and nations?
It would benefit each one of us more if we
sowed respect, compliments, kindness and encouragement. One word can be the beginning of a major
blessing or spark a fire. Do you want to
be known as an inspirer, a hero, and a person who builds others up or do you
want to be identified with harshness and intolerance?
It is a
far healthier for each one of us to make wise choices grounded in wisdom and
compassion. Time and time again on the various social media sites, people have
blurted out words and statement that offend and injure and after is all said
and done, they are embarrassed to find out that the world is watching. Your words will define you, your character
and give others some insight into your soul.
I am sure most of us would rather be identified as a person of knowledge
and strength and not ignorance. Make time to slow down your thoughts and words
and think before you speak. Carelessness is not an excuse. Understand that your words possess great
power. No one can judge you for what you
are thinking but everyone can and usually do critique you for what you
say. Rest assured, someone somewhere is
paying attention and if they ever choose to defame you, they will only have to
look at your words to gain the material needed to do the job. Please think before you speak and use your
words to build up people not to drag them down.
We seldom realize that our words create, so make sure you think about
what you want to create 24/7! “Words are like eggs dropped from great heights; you
can no more call them back than ignore the mess they leave when they fall.” ― Jodi Picoult,
author.
